Happy Birthday Emerson

Today my baby is 7. I can't believe it. Last night she said to me " I am thinking that you, dad and all the brothers should come into my room first thing in the morning and stand by my bed and sing happy birthday to me" then when Chris was getting her ready for bed she said I sure hope you guys come in and sing happy birthday to me. Too funny. Love her. At least we woke her up with a smile. I can't imagine our home without miss Em. She brings so much love into our family. Happy Birthday Princess.

Em's Birthday Party

I really didn't want to do a birthday party this year but Miss Em had other ideas so we compromised and came up with this. She got to invite 2 of her best friends and we headed down to Evan's Beauty college for a manicure. Emerson got to choose where they went to eat and of course she wanted to go to McDonalds.

It turned out fun and I think the girls had a great time. Love ya Miss Em.

Ears Pierced

Em's birthday is this Sunday and for one of her gifts we decided to let her get her ears pierced. She has been asking to have them done for a long time. We thought it would be fun to make it a Daddy Daughter date. Because of everything going on this weekend Chris needed to take her last night. She was so excited to spend time with her dad and get her ears pierced.

The lady has just marked her ears, and she is still excited.

I think now it hits her that this might hurt ( and maybe it has something to do with the lady saying it will feel like a shot you get at the doctors.) and she gets upset. Chris has her call me to see if I can reassure her.
She was brave ( and maybe they tricked her a little)

Way to go Big Brother

Saturday we were up in Cedar for Ryker's Soccer game. Slatin and Emerson were on the playground playing when a boy came up to Emerson and called her a foul name. She went and found Slatin and told him and being the protective big brother that he is, went and confronted the boy and told him to stop calling his sister names. The boy left them alone. Later that night Slatin was telling me what had happened and said that he was glad that he was there to protect his little sister. So was I. I am so thankful that my children love each other and look out for each other.

Bunnies

I found these cute burlap bunnies on line and I had to make them. I think they will make cute visiting gifts this month. I haven't decided on how to do the face yet, either with buttons or paint? Or maybe left alone. I don't know. I just think they are cute.
This morning I could hear the boys playing in the kitchen and then I heard something else. what do you ask??? a tooting contest. I went in to tell them to stop and who was letting one rip??? yep, you guessed it. Miss Em. She was putting those boys to shame. Nice.

What's up

Yesterday I dropped Ryker off at the dentist thinking he was going to have his teeth looked at and he came out with a set of these. Poor guy his mouth is sooooo sore. I remember those days.

Of course the weather is beautiful this week when the kids have to go back to school. Luckily I was able to take them to a fun park on monday to finish off spring break. Now back to soccer, soccer, wrestling and baseball. oh and I can't forget Dance for Em. She is preforming in Broadway magic with her Dance group and another group. Ryker and Kaige are also preforming. She is soo excited and the skirts are going to be super cute. I can't wait to try it on her. Thanks Kendra for sewing them and thanks Daniela for putting it all together.
On Monday Slatin was complaining that his neck hurt but then we went to the park and I didn't think anything of it. When we got home he was really whiney and kept saying how bad his neck hurt still. I felt along side his neck and there was a huge bump. He would scream if you pressed on it. He told me his friends told him it was probably a tumor. Thanks friends. I waited until Chris got home, just incase I was overreacting. Chris took him over to Insta care and found out that it is a swollen lymph node. I didn't realize they were on the sides of your neck. They are painful and need to be watched to see if the swelling goes down. He actually has 3 of them and as of today they still haven't gone down. Chris and I both felt like they had gotten bigger yesterday. You can see one of the bumps or the swelling on his neck. He has an appointment on Friday with his Dr. to re check the neck and hopefully get more answers to his stomach problems, which just seem to have gotten worse. Poor guy. You know something hurts when it prevents them from playing.
I have been neglecting my food storage room. I bought a bunch of stuff from the case lot sale but when my friend called me to say she was doing chicken I decided I better jump back on the pressure cooking band wagon and bottle some as well. Looks like that is what I will be doing this weekend. I do not look forward to doing it but soo glad to have it line my shelves. It is so nice to use in meals. The kids and Chris love to eat it right out of the bottle. Maybe one day just maybe I will try some.
This year for my mom's easter egg hunt I decided instead of candy I am going to make little gifts for the kids to find. These are on the list.

I just got mine cut out and and I can't wait to see how they turn out. Lets hope I can get it all done in between work, practices and games.

Finally some Fun

This Spring Break just wasn't as much fun as usual. I had plans but the weather didn't cooperate and on the days that it did, well, life and commitments got in the way. So finally on Saturday we were able to have some fun.

And fun we had.
