Seriously, COME ON!!!!!!!!!!

Emerson and I spent the morning at the Doctor's office. It was great. We are on a first name basis there. Emerson has had a fever and sore throat for the past 2 days not making her a happy camper. I figured she had strep and after a nice chunk of change that is what she has. Poor girl. She was terrified to go to the doctor after her experience with the dentist (and he was great) I had to bribe her and carry her in. They were great with her and hopefully next time (because with the way things are going there will be a next time) she will do better.
Getting her to take the medicine was a joke. I almost had to hold her down and pinch her nose she was throwing such a fit but we got the first dose down. WOOHOO and it wasn't too bad. Lets cross our fingers that she is the only one that gets it.

Poor girl she doesn't feel good at all.

These past couple of weeks with chest pains, flu, toe and now strep have been a yucky and I get to take Slatin in to have his tonsils looked at because he has kissing tonsils and the Dr. thinks they need to be removed. Seems like when it rains it pours. Bring it on is all I can say.
One plus side is that it gets me out of moving day. Sorry Ellie I really will help.
Taylor and Ellie are moving up to LaVerkin in one of Claudia's houses until they build theirs. I think this has been a blessing for them and I am glad that she will be close when Taylor is in Guard. The kids are so excited to hang with Deacon.

I just have to give Kendra a shout out and wish her good luck in the upcoming months. I am still blown away but know this is where you should be.
Don't these look yummy. Jaxton said they were good. I didn't get a chance to frost them or try them yet. They sure smelled good

Recipe for Cinnamon Muffins

3 Cups Flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp groun nutmeg
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup Milk
****
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp cinnamon
2 sticks of butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease muffin cups. (I use the big ones because that is all I have but it also suggest the mini ones) Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside. In a different bowl, cream together 1 cup sugar and shortening, then add eggs and mix. Add the flour mixture and milk alternately to creamed mixture beating well after each addition. Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for 20-25 min or until golden. In a bowl melt 2 sticks of butter. In a separate bowl combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Dip baked muffins in butter coating thouroughly, then coat with cinnamom-sugar mixture.(I usually dip the top and coat and then dip the bottom and coat)
Chris will heat these up in microwave the next day or even later that night to have them warm.
Hope you enjoy. I will post the cookie dough brownine recipe later this week.

Treats

These are a popular Cinnamon muffin that I make. I made some today. Chris loves these. I have never tried them but I have heard they are YUMMY.
If anyone is interested in the recipe let me know and I will post it.

This is my favorite cookie. They were on sale (of course) I bought 5 and hid them all. I DO NOT SHARE THESE.

I also made a new dessert tonight called cookie dough brownies. They are cooling and then I will ice them and take a picture to share. They look sooooooooo good. I didn't make dinner tonight but I made 2 desserts how sad is that. (my kids did eat just not something I made, one of those days)

I love good deals.

I made a quick trip down to town today to get Kaige some shoes. I stopped at Albertsons and got 6 boxes of cereal, 2 boxes of gogurts, 2 boxes of trix yogurt, 2 packages of cookies for a grand total of 3.85

And for all you coupon geeks out there you can stack your target coupons and manufactor coupons. I didn't know this until today. I was able to get 8 things of yougurt for free, 2 packages of pringles for free, 64 ounce ocean spray juice for .
99 cent, (would have been .40 cent but I forgot my other coupon) worth making a trip over there.
I'm sure you all get tired of these posts but I love to see other peoples good deals and I LOVE to see how much money I and others can save. So I will keep posting and just skip over it if you don't care.

The toe is feeling so much better, still sore but so much better. Thanks for the feel betters.

Games with Dad and Mom

Yesterday we had family night with Chris and played games. We had 2 teams Chris and I were both captians. They all wanted to be on Chris's team. How sad for mom. Well guess whose team won all 3 times. Yup.. MINE.. Of course when I win Chris always says it is because he let me, Yeah Right. Emerson guessed one of the answers right and Chris asked her how she knew the answer and she replied "I guess I am a genius" she is a ham.

JIC your wondering no there in nothing wrong with Ryker's hand. He is messing around.

Ryker

Ryker got his first suit this week and boy does he look nice. He is growing up to be a handsome young man. He is such a good kid and such a great help.

Of course Emerson had to have her picture taken. She is such a poser.

I can't believe she is going to be 6 soon. It makes me sad.

I thought we were done with the flu but poor slatin woke up last night with it. His porr stomach hurts. I am tired of the flu. Hopefully this is the last one for awhile.

Cereal

Chris went to the store for me last night and came home with 16 boxes of Kellogs cereal for 3.18
What a deal. I think we are set for cereal after the last 2 weeks. He rearranged my store room and we went through all the cereal and I think we are good for awhile (at least till the next great deal) Good snacks for the kids.

Valentine Books

The other night I had some friends come over and make the Valentine books. We had a great time and had lots of laughs.I think we laughed more than worked. And sometimes words like STUPID were said but hopefully all in fun. Just kidding. I have to give you a hard time. But it gave me a jump start on all the books I need to work on. I guess one good thing can come from getting my toenail VIOLENTLY ripped off my toe is that I now have time to work on them. I had 7 books still to do and Jaxton just informed me that he wants to make 3 for some of his "girl" friends. So the pile just got bigger. Looks like I will have a helper.

Some people just came for treats.

I can't wait for the next project. (Kendra this is a hint)
Remember Brandi I put up nice pictures.
As for the toe, today it was feeling a little bit better until I jammed it on a stool and um yeah it hurts. I feel like such a baby and think I should be tougher. Chris and the kids have been great.
Lets hope next week is better.

Ouch

Today I decided to do a little rearranging, something I don't do very often. (right) I was cleaning the boys room and moving their bed to another wall and as I was pushing the bunkbed against the wall a box was under the bed and it somehow jammed up against my toe and ripped the top of the toenail almost all the way off. I called Chris (cuz I am a big baby) and said I need you to stop at the store and get me some bandages I have hurt my toe. He comes home and says you need to go to the doctor. I HATE GOING TO THE DOCTOR. I thought I could just take the rest of it off but nope I couldn't. We head over to Insta Care and they get me right in. Everyone has to come and check it out. It looks gross and it hurts like crazy.
The Doctor told me that it was going to have to come off and he could either just yank it off or he could numb it. I said "which one hurts less?" and he said they both hurt. I said "which would you do?" and he said he would just yank it.. The nurse pipes up "Honey, have him numb it"
So he gives me 6 shots to numb it and I am bawling it hurt like crazy. I was ready to just leave and deal with the toe.
He gets it all numb (I made sure) and then he yanks the nail out. I about come off of the table and just about nailed him with my other leg. He cleans the nailbed and then clips the ends of the toenail and GLUES the nail back on. I also got to get a lovely Tetnus shot. The Doctor said that I was going to be pretty miserable for a couple of days and so far he has been right. My foot is throbbing. I have to keep it wrapped and elevated for a couple of days and hopefully the nail will stay on long enough to let the nail bed heal a little bit. \
But I have a wonderful hubby who is taking good care of me. And he even let me squeeze his hand to death while the Doctor fixed my toe.
Chris thinks I should have learned a lesson and not move things but next time I will just wear shoes.

SOBE'S and BOYS

I went to Smith's yesterday to get some Goldfish and saw they had Sobe life waters on sale 10 for 10, and if you bought 10 then you got them for 50 cents and on top of that they each had a 50 cent coupon on them. SWEET. I ended up getting 60 and just paid the tax on them.
Love those kind of deals.
Again my wonderful husband is heading down to Albertson's to get my List of deals this morning. He is armed with a detailed list and coupons. He is great. I sure am lucky.

This morning the kids cut sleeves off of a T-shirt and were playing with the ends of them and decide to put them on their heads and then on their faces. Well they couldn't see out of them so Ryker was going to make holes in them with scissors so they can they could see while the masks were on there heads. UMM NO. Good thing we caught them. BOYS. The things they come up with.

Dang that flu

The Flu bug has struck our house again. I had it really bad on Sunday and poor Emerson got it today. I hate it when the kids are sick. Now I am waiting to see who it is going to hit next.
I am sad because I can't go to Lindsey's shower. I Know the party won't be the same without me there LOL. Ryker is a good babysitter but if he can't clean up his own mess I don't think I will be able to get him to clean up Emerson. No Seriously Ryker has really stepped up while his dad had been gone and all my boys have been a great help to me. I am lucky.
So since I can't make the shower tonight and I like you guys, don't be surprised girls if you get an invitation to a Mary Poppins game.
Won't that be fun. Just don't cry when you lose..........................

And the Winners are................

I decided to do two drawings. Here's the winners. CONGRATS. I will get these blocks to you guys in the next day or two

Kaige, Kaige, Kaige

Yesterday when I was doing chicken I had 4 pints left over that wouldn't fit in the pressure cooker. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do another batch with just 4 pints or if I should just freeze the chicken. I told Kaige to take the jars and put them in the fridge downstairs until I decided. Last Night I went down to the store room to put away the bottled chicken and what do I see on my shelf. The Raw chicken sitting by the cooked chicken. Not too happy. I asked Kaige why he put the chicken on the shelf and not the fridge and his answer was "I thought you wanted me to put the jars where the other chicken went." I told him if he would have listened to me he would have known where the chicken was suppose to go.
This is just one example of Kaige and his tendency to take after my mom.
One time Chris came home from work and Kaige was at the computer. Chris helped him with something on the computer and then went upstairs to get ready for meetings. I came in and said something to Kaige and he said Mom, when is Dad coming home? Um Kaige your dad is home and he just helped you at the computer. OH yeah.
He keeps us laughing
We love you Kaiger

Chicken

This is what I did today. I bought a case of Chicken at Lins on Friday and decided I better hurry and bottle it. (Bonnie they have cases on sale this week for 55.60 if your interested)
I hate cutting it up and spending the time to bottle it but it is so worth it in the end. I do love to stack it on my shelfs and see the results.

We have been eating our bottled potatoes and the kids love them. I wish I would have done more and I am thinking the rest of my potatoes will be too soft. I wanted to make sure we would like them before I spent the time on them. Hopefully they will still work, if so that is what I am going to do later this week.

I went over to Walgreens today and got 2 bottles of Ragu sauce (someone wiped out all the rest LOL) and 6 jars of Jiffy peanut butter for about .25 cents each. Score for coupons. I am hoping to beat the rush when they get another truck in and get the rest of my Ragu sauce.

Valentine Giveaway

Kay, my husband thinks I am crazy (which I probably am) because I am doing another giveaway. But what else am I going to do while he is gone. I made these blocks for my Visiting Teaching ladies . I made me a set and one extra. All you need to do is leave a comment and if you have done your VT for the month then let me know in your comment and you will get your name put in twice. The Drawing ends on Wed.

I'm a mean mom

The other day, well evening I was sitting on the couch and the kids were downstairs when I hear this voice calling "Mom I need you" It was Ryker. I asked him what he needed and he said that he had just thrown up and hadn't made it to the bathroom. I HATE THROW UP!!!!!!!!! I asked him where he had thrown up and he said right in front of his door trapping Kaige in his room. I went downstairs and just about added to the mess. This is where I am a mean mom. I told him he needed to clean it up I couldn't. And I told Jaxton and Kaige they got to help. Then of course I had to grab the camera. Well I guess I am not so mean because Kaige and Jaxton wouldn't help and Ryker started dry heaving so I grabbed a shirt tied it around my nose and cleaned it up. Then we bleached the floor after that. Of course right after I got it cleaned up Chris came home. Perfect timing.

I have other pictures but I didn't want to make anyone sick.

I really have great kids. They are so good to help out when their dad is gone. I am so proud of them.
I also have a great hubby whom I am lucky to have.
We had a Father in our ward pass away this week, who was just a couple of years older than Chris. He has 4 boys. It happened so quickly and was so sad. It just made me really think about how fast things can change and to make sure I make the most of the time I have with my family. They are always wanting Chris and I to do things with them and pretty soon they are going to stop wanting us around. I need to make sure I am spending time with them and that we are making wonderful memories. I need to be more unselfish with my time.

Random Post

Here is my cutie pie. She sweet talked her dad into buying her a robe.

Today I went over to Rayn's with Emerson. Emerson hung out with Zoe and Asher while Rayn and I made some cute hair clips. I don't have any pictures yet because I need to finish them up but once I do I will post our cute work. I had a lot of fun visiting with Rayn. I enjoy our friendship and have such a fun time with her. I can be myself and relax and have fun. Watch out Rayn I am working on my ideas and then giving you a call. Thanks for letting us come crash at your house even if we did have to hunt down a flower die cut.
Emerson had fun playing with Zoe. They gave us a scare at the end. They went outside to play and when I went to check on them we couldn't find them. After a bit we found them. (I was so SCARED) they had decided they wanted to ride up to our house. What little stinkers. One had no panties and a short dress/shirt on and the other one had no shoes. I will let you guess, because it could be either one of them, they both are crack ups.
Tomorrow we have pine wood derby for Kaige and he is super excited. Chris hurried and got it mostly done this weekend and I just need to finish up the tires and some little things and then my dad is going to come and take care of any problems at the race. Thanks Dad for helping out. I have no idea what to do with pine wood derby's.
Thursday I am making Slatin and Emerson Teepee's with Brandi and Kendra. I can't wait. I don't know who is more excited me or Slatin. I finished getting all my stuff together today. I think the kids will have so much fun with them. Iwill post pictures of them when I get them done.
Just a reminder that the drawing ends Friday morning. I went last night to pick up the stuff and I am hoping to get working on it tonight. It will be different than the picture but I think just as cute.

New Project

My Friend Kendra showed me a Darling Quiet book she made for her little girl. I bragged it up to my sister Summer and she started looking for quiet books. She found a darling Nativity pattern that we are going to do up at Christmas and then I found this SUPER SUPER cute valentine book out of felt so I bought the pattern so that I can make it for the kids teachers for Valentines Day.

I printed off the pattern yesterday and made one up and sewed it on the machine and just liked it okay, so today I cut out another one and hand sewed this one today and liked it much better. I needed one for my Pollyanna gift tonight and I am really happy with it.
I hope the teachers like them. They are alot of work. They remind me of the paper bag books but out of felt instead

Front Cover of the book

The sprinkles on the cupcake are little beads I stitched on and the flowers on the opposite page really have two layers it and then the buttons. My Camera didn't show that (much cuter in person)

Last page. For the teachers I am going to have the kids write a note to their teacher and put it in the envelope.

Playing with Dad

Since Chris is gone during the week the kids treasure any time they can spend with him. Sunday they decided they wanted to wrestle with dad. They had a blast. They sure love their dad.

Full House

Some of the kids playing dodgeball

Today I had a full house. My five kids plus 8 more. Good thing we have a back yard, trampoline and dodgeball. That entertained some of them for awhile. Ryker got a Wii for Christmas and that entertained the other half and the girls hung out up in Em's room playing.
