THings to think about.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT !
1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.
2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.
3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young. Except if they have a little girl named Emerson. Holy Cows she is driving me crazy.
4. Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said. Oh man has this happened to us.
5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own
6. We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

Just got this little Email from my Dad. It made me a laugh which was nice because it has been one of those days. Why do people have to be mean?????????????????????

I am

I AM

I am Flippin’ Amazing and humble.
I wonder what war is like,
I hear music Booming.
I see with my eyes.
I want to go skydiving.
I am Flippin’ Amazing and humble.

I pretend to be a secret agent.
I feel bored.
I touch sound.
I worry that I won’t have any food.
I Cry… HAHA! That’s a good one!
I am Flippin’ Amazing and humble.

I understand that everybody should have at least some common sense.
I say “Man who run in front of car get tired, man who run behind car get exhausted, man on top of car get winded, and man who run next to car……… pretty Dang fast!
I dream we didn’t have to write this poem.
I try to be a better me.
I hope I get an A on this poem!
I am Flippin’ Amazing and humble.

This is Ryker's poem for language arts. I got a kick out of it and had to post it. He is pretty amazing. Saturday he was asked to go to the movies with a girl he likes and a bunch of friends and he really wanted to go but when he found out what movie was playing he made the decision (even though he REALLY wanted to go) to say no and when asked why he told them it wasn't an appropriate movie to go see and would they want to see a different one.? The group still decided to go but Sunday when he was talking to the one of the girls she told him that they never should have gone to see the movie, she felt bad for going and they ended up walking out of the movie before it was halfway over. I am so glad Ryker was and is strong enough to make those decisions on his own. It is so hard to not follow the crowd and I am so thankful that he his Flippin' Amazing.

Head Bands

I love the internet. I found a tutorial on line to make ribbon headbands and after a couple of attempts this is what I came up with. This one goes all the way around and attaches in the back. okay Amberly, after I saw how cute Maili looked in the "School" pictures and the cute headband? she had. I wanted Em to have something like it. This is what I came up with. I can't wait to have her wear it when you take her pictures. She (I) is so excited to have them done.

I glued this one on to a headband. I think I want to try and add some fabric flowers to some of them.
They are fun to make they just take a LOT Of ribbon.

Em's Room

I have seen these darling ruffle pillows on line and I finally felt brave enough to attempt one. They are easier than I thought. I made one for Em's room. The fabric is a little busy but I wanted to use what I had on my first one and I really like it.

I am in love with the subway art and had to make one up for Ms. Em's room. I think I could add a few more words but for now I like it. I just noticed I need to add an s to always. oops.

SoCcEr TiMe

Kaige made the Arsenol Soccer team in St. George. We have spent and will spend a lot of time running him down to practices and games but it has been worth it. He played his first game on Saturday and they won. Go Arsenol. This picture was taken after the soccer game. He was so sweaty and red, and it was only 10:30 in the morning.

Kaige lives and breathes soccer. The team is really good and the coach is a great coach but some (most) of Kaige's teammates have a problem with language. I was worried about how that would affect Kaige but I am so proud of him and the example he is setting by not participating in the language and the mouthing off to other players. He is such a good kid. Way to go Kaige. Great Job.

Yard Sale Finds

We stopped at a Yard Sale on Saturday and I sat in the car while Chris and the boys checked it out. This is what Slatin spent his money on. The helmet and the belt were worn in the Vietnam war. He is in Heaven. The guy selling the stuff told Slatin that they use to use their helmets to eat out of and so of course Slatin wants to try that out. I don't think so. But he is having a blast with his treasures.

a new friend?????

So last night Chris was at Young Men's and he had a young man come up to him and want to know if he could come over and play. Chris told him he wasn't going to be home and the boys were busy with sports so the young man asked if he could come and play with me. Chris told him I was going to be gone to a soccer game and he went thru the week asking what day would work. I must be popular or the kid is desparate. I think the latter.

Happy Birthday Jaxton

Happy Birthday Jaxton. My handsome 13 year old. We got him fishing gear and he gets to go fishing on Saturday morning. He can't wait. He is such a good kid and tries so hard. He can be the most stubborn kid ever but he is the most loving and tenderhearted one as well. We are sure glad to have him in our family. Love ya Bud.

Just wondering

Just wondering how you can have nothing to wear when your closet and dresser is full of clothes?
Emerson had a major fit this morning because she has nothing to wear, nothing at all.
RIGHT
This morning has already started out lovely.

Love mY BroThErs.

I have the best brothers EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday we were at my mom's for a BBQ and when I went to get in my car my wonderful brother had left me a little present wrapped around the door handle of my car.
I flipped out. The poor neighbors. I ran screaming up the hill. I HATE snakes. This was a dead baby snake but still a snake. They had even enlisted my kids. I am going to get even. I need to get even. One day just wait.

Remember this beauty?????

Remember this beauty.......... it now looks like this
The pictures don't even do it justice. I sanded this baby down and painted it Ivory, sanded it again and added stain on the sanded parts and then put a sealer on it.
I did the same with the desk.

again the pitures don't do it justice but I love it and Miss Em loves it. I found the cutest lamp to go on it and add the mirror.
2 down one more to go.

new project

Found this awesome desk at the DI on Saturday and had to have it. I am planning on sanding it down and repainting it and then making it into a vanity for Miss Em. I love the curve on the drawers. It will be fun to see how it turns out.

Sand Hollow

Friday we headed to Sand Hallow with the Moore's, Kade and Becky's family, Ellie and the boys, and Summer and Tim. It was so much fun until the wind came in. But we were able to spend most of the day there swimming, jet sking, and visiting. Jaxton and Tim.

Slatin ready to attack

The sand was fun to play in for awhile and then it was HOT

Slatin and Kade. Slatin was Uncle Kade and Tim's flagger for most of the day and if I would have know how crazy they were going to be I don't think I would have let him. They ended up bailing off the jet ski before it tipped over and then just for fun they decided to jump off the Moving jet ski as it was speeding down the lake again just for fun. But Slatin had a blast.

Kaige getting ready to knee board

It was so much fun. Thanks Moore's for putting this together, and for letting us come. Chris and Ryker were at Youth Conference this week
so they weren't able to join in the fun but they had fun up North.
Later that night we headed up to Claudia's and Uncle Eldon's for the Annual Gubler Reunion. We watched old home videos and old reunions. I gave Aunt Teresa a run for her money with the hairdo's. One word AWFUL.
Saturday we met at the church and finished up the reunion with a mean game of minute to win it and then had lunch. They put in alot of work and it was a blast. I love my family.

FHE Fun

It all started with this invitation that we took around.

This is what is inside.

We met at the La Verkin 5th ward building armed with water bottles, water balloons, and yummy treats.
We played lots of fun games.

Musical Towels

Some people will do anything to stay in the game. Even taking down harmless children

Ready, set, FIRE

We played a game with the grown ups that was really fun. I had 2 -5 gallon buckets filled with ice water and a sweatshirt in each bucket. We split up into teams and you had to grab the sweatshirt out of the bucket and put it on and run down and back and pull it off and put it back in the bucket for the next person. Next time I am going to add sweatpants to the bucket.

If you can't tell by Daniela's face it was a little cold.

The men and kids were ruthless to us poor gals.

Thanks Stackhouses, Perrys, and Johnsons for sharing FHE with us. It was a SPLASH.
