Then some of us headed over to Aunt Jill's for the Nutcracker run.

Merry Christmas Teachers and Office

My kids have great teachers and the Elementary has the best office besides the middle school (thanks mom) so I always want to let them know how much we appreciate them. This Christmas I went simple. I made them candy cane suckers and sugar plum marshmellows. They came together cute.

Beatty Family Party

Last Saturday we had our adult Beatty party. Kade and Becky were in charge and kept with the homemade gift theme. Everyone (except one person who shall not be named ) made something for their person and then added something to go with it. (namely gift cards) It was alot of fun to see what everyone came up with.

Heather had Tim and made him this shirt. His favorite word is Awesome and he told the kids to call him "Uncle Awesome" .... Awesome. She also gave him a gift card to his favorite store. Tim had Sam and gave him some coupons for hair cuts, and a night of babysitting for Sam and Kendra. Lucky. Chris had Summer and I(we cheated) made her an apron, cuz she likes to cook so much. NOT. and a gift card in the pocket for her to buy something fun.
My Parents had Taylor and made him this sweet hat and gave him a picnic table to go with it. Ellie had Heather and made her this darling wallet with a gift card. Kendra had Chris and gave his these oh so lovely undies with a duct tape wallet and some spending money, Becky had Ellie and made her this cute Jewelry holder.

My mom had Kendra and made her puppets with a puppet curtain (forgot to get that picture it is soooo cute) Zak had my dad and made him a duct tape wallet with a chain and gave him some sweet smelling stetson Cologne (growing up that is what my parents always had zak give his friends, a wallet and cheap cologne) with a gift card in it. My dad had Kade and he made him a hat (0k maybe my mom helped) with a picnic table

Summer had Becky and made her this really cute bracelet and gave her some spending money. I had Zak. I had so much fun coming up with his gift. I made him a picture book with pictures of just me and all my lovely poses. What a lucky guy. I have to say as I was making it I couldn't stop giggling as I put the pages together. It was fun. I also gave him a gift card . Kendra had my mom and she gave her a duct tape wallet with money. Kade had me and gave me a super cute jewerly holder.

It was fun to visit and see what everyone came up with. It was especially great that Taylor was home to share it with us.

Show and Tell

Emerson took Uncle Taylor for Show and Tell on Friday. She was so exicted that he was able to come so she could show him off. She made sure I asked him to wear his uniform. The kids had some great questions for him. "Is Iraq in Utah?" "Have you ever sniped anyone?" "Have you ever driven a tank?" "What did you eat?" and a bunch more. It was fun to go and listen to him talk to the kids. Thanks Taylor

Then we made a quick stop in Slatin's class to say Hello. His cute little face turned bright red when Uncle Taylor gave him a hug and kiss. Later I asked him if he was embarrassed and he said no, I said but your face got all red and he said red is for happy mom, not embarrassed.

Taylor is BACK. WOOHOO.

Taylor is back home. We are so excited. We drove up to cedar this morning to meet his plane at 7:50 But the army was early and we almost missed him coming off the plane. My kids were SO excited to see him.

Deacon did not want to leave his Daddy's side. He had a huge grin on his face the entire time. He sure missed his daddy.

Dickens Festival

Emerson started clogging in August and had her first performance Saturday at the Dicken's festival. Chris and I weren't able to make it, so Aunt Summer played mom. Thank you Summer. Doesn't she look so pretty. My mom saved me money and made Em's costume. Thanks so much mom.
Usually in the past Em has had major melt downs before each performance, the costume doesn't fit right, the leggings or tights bug her, she doesn't like this or that so I was prepared to have this happen again but she surprised me and was super excited to wear nylons and her costume fit her great.

She let me curl her hair and we even put a tiny bit of make up on.

Lexi and Emerson

It has been fun to have her take clogging, she goes to the same house and with the same family that I took from.

Good News and not so good News

We have heard from Taylor and he is set to be home in a couple of days. We are soo excited. It could be as early Tuesday or as late as Thursday (we hope) I can't wait to see him.

The not so good news, Chris and I were out tonight and we got a phone call........ one son threw up on another son. The sick son was standing over the well son and thought he just had to burp. Nope not a burp. So sad for the well son and his head, face, and pillow. But the good news. Not a drop got on my carpet.
