Emerson's Dance recital

Emerson had her first Dance Recital last night. It was so cute. She has so much fun going to dance. They did some Halloween dances. Her cousin Abby is in Dance with her which makes it even better.

Here Emerson is getting an award from her Dance teacher.
One of the dances.

Before going off stage after a dance. Each girl told the audience what they were going to be for Halloween. Here is Em telling us she is going to be a pirate.

Almost there.

Just finished cooking 150 cupcakes. Can't wait to decorate them, NOT!!!Have a batch of home made chili (recipe is Bonnie's) cooking and only 2 more soups to make tomorrow. Table decorations are done, finishing up a game, Kid's teachers gifts done. I feel so bad I was suppose to help out a teacher tomorrow with a class party (I forgot I had signed up) and had to tell him that I would have to help another time. I don't know when I would have fit it in. I think the rest is stuff I can only do tomorrow. I can't wait for Friday to be over. I hope it all works out and everyone has fun.

FHE

Last night Kade and Becky were in charge of FHE. We had a halloween FHE. It was so much fun to get together and visit. Kade sent around sections of a story and each family had to finish that section and then he put the story together and read it. It was so funny. Then the kids played the ABC game.
Some of the boys.
Grandma teaching them the abc game.
what a cute witch.
Deacon was terrified of Kade's costume, and when you see it you will know why.

I believe he takes the prize for best costume. Love the chest hair.

Miss Em in her pirate costume

Hadley and Grandma

The family before the party. Ryker was a quarter back, Kaige a line backer, Slatin and inmate and Em a pirate.
Today for school Em is wearing her Halloween skirt.

He's old but not that old

Tonight we are having a Halloween FHE with my family. We are suppose to dress up.
Today my brother Kade called to ask me if Chris had a silk shirt that he wore in high school, when he was met with silence he said you know in the 1950's. I said Kade, Chris wasn't even born in the 1950's . Oh yeah. I laughed so hard. This will really make Chris's day.

Halloween Party

The bishopric came over to my house and extended a calling to me. I am now along with being over prepardness, I am over the activities for the ward. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's just say I am so grateful for a wonderful committee who I know I can count on because we have a halloween party to plan.
Overwhelmed was an understatement. Everyone is busy, life is busy, but I didn't know if I had time to plan a party for the whole ward along with the few other things I was responsible for. It is crazy how things all need to be done at the same time.
We are having the party on Friday and we also have a cannery date set that I am in charge of the same afternoon. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who is stepping in my place at the cannery, for a GREAT committee, and wonderful friends who are lending help and ideas. I can now see the light and even though this week will be hetic, Friday will be fun. (fingers crossed)

Getting Wood

Chris, Kaige, Slatin, Emerson and Lucky me headed up to Kolob yesterday to get wood. (I hate getting wood) It all started out so fun

She was so happy to be there

But after awhile this is where we found her. Crying in the car, saying I hate this stupid, dirty place, I wanna go home NOW.

Dance Festival

La Verkin Elementary had their first (and hopefully not their last) dance festival. It was great. We had such a good turn out. The kids were excited to perform.

Right before the festival
My camera wasn't cooperating so these are the best I could get during their dances. Emerson performed to beach boys. Slatin danced to stayin alive and Kaige danced to (we'll he was on the drums) to the jungle book.

After the festival.

It was alot of fun and the the festival committee did such a great job.

How Lucky Am I.

I have the best family ever. They braved the yucky germs to bring me a little gift to show me they were thinking of me.

This is what was in the bag.

Even Miss Em had to try it on.

Thank you so much.

Bored out of my mind

This is what happens when your stuck at home with a sick kid.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

Oh poor boy

I have one sick boy at home. He started feeling sick yesterday and is miserable today. He sounds awful. Poor Guy.
(I think he got sick cleaning off the van, that was vandalized.)
But a sick kid doesn't stop me from playing and winning.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Ryker.... We love you....

Happy Birthday Ryker

I can't believe I have a 14 year old. Only 5 more years and he will be putting papers in. If the 14 years went by fast I don't even want to think about how fast 5 will go.

We are so LUCKY to have Ryker in our family. He is such a good kid. He has really helped me out with Chris being gone so much.

He is such an example to me. He was challenged in missionary prep to give a book of mormon to somebody. He took that challenge. He wrote his testimony in the book of mormon and gave it to a friend of his that is non mormon. He told him he had something for him and that before he gave it to him he wanted the friend to make him a promise. He gave him the book of mormon and challenged his friend to read it by the end of the school year. The friend told him he would try and keep that promise. As old as I am I know how hard it would be for me to do that and for him to do that made me really realize what a great kid I have. I asked him if he was nervous to give it to him an he said that he was but he really wanted him to have it. I am really proud of him.

Chris took Ryker and some of his friends to play Lazer tag, golf and eat last night. I don't know who was more excited Chris or the boys. They had a great time. I wish I would have sent my camera. But then if I would have sent my camera I wouldn't have been able to get a picture of this. The front is even better. My poor innocent boys were wondering what they were???????
Diapers is what they came up with. I let them think that as they were TRYING to pull them off the windows. Lets just say this is WAR and thanks to the leader I know who you all are... waahaaahaaa.

Fall Crafts

Today I had to make something for a wedding on Monday and I decided while I had my craft stuff out I would make something for the house . I LOVE fall but I don't have very many fall crafts.

the lighting on this is bad but the board is antique white with brown lettering and a cream circle for the tree. I love how simple it is.

Things people will do.

Isn't it funny what you will do when your scared. Scared to lose, scared to be taken down by the queen. So scared that you use your poor son or brother as an excuse not to play.

Winner.......

Some of you were right and some were wrong but I put all your names in and drew out this lucky person.................

JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN JEN

and here is what you have won.....

Emerson is going to be a pirate. I know the skirt looks a little witchy but I am hoping once I put everything together it will look okay. Slatin is going to be an inmate. I think he watches to much cops j/k I still need to do his top and make a ball and chain and he is ready.

Jen I need to get with you to give you your gift. Let me know what works for you.

Football and a new project

Jaxton's football team won their first game last night. Go Tigers. They played so hard. I never really got into watching football until Jaxton started playing. It has been fun to watch but also a little nerve racking. Last night a boy from the other team got hurt. It was awful to watch. He was screaming in pain on the field. My heart ached for him. The boys were all respectful and felt bad.
Football has been good for Jaxton. He has really enjoyed it.

Before Jaxton's game last night I went and got the wood cut for this awesome project. I can't wait to get started on it.

I didn't cut mine as big as hers 30x40 (that is huge) I cut mine 24x30. I am excited to make this.

Happy Birthday Aunt Kristine.

Halloween Costumes

Yesterday I started on Slatin's costume. I finished the bottom part of it, can anyone guess what he is going to be??? I still need to do the top and make one more thing.

There is a prize involved for the winner......................
I also started on Em's costume she wanted to be a cheerleader but not just any cheerleader but a Zombie cheerleader, I finally talked her into something else. I still have to cut the bottom of the skirt and add the rest of the costume.
Can you guess what she is going to be??????

Slatin took the picture so it's off a little bit.
