Candlesticks finally finished.

With Em being home I haven't been able to go into work. Dang it. So I finished up my Candle sticks that I started on last week for Craft Club.I had a hard time deciding which way to go so I just went simple, but I love them. ( I still need to get another candle) I think I am going to steal Kendra's idea for my next set. Hope that is okay Kendra??? I made a fun Spring Wreath to go by them.
I think the rest of you all should post pictures of your candlesticks.
This month I have Summer's name for our little exchange and when I saw this idea on line I thought of her. I hope she likes it.

Em is heading back to school tomorrow. I will miss her but not the whistle. I can do without the whistle.
Ryker and Jaxton just came home from Young Mens. They had a combined activity and had a great time. They acted out skits using stories from the scriptures. What a great idea.

The verdict is in.

The verdict is in and Em has strep throat. She is actually doing better and gets to go to school tomorrow. She is starting to get bored. She made a clubhouse in her closet that she plays in and if I hear a whistle blowing I need to come find her and see what's the matter. (that is her distress call, or mom come play with me) She cracks me up. She was terrified to go to the doctor, but was a real trooper and I was proud of how big she acted.

My mom gave me this window frame months ago and I finally talked Chris into hanging it up for me. I love it. It is hanging on the wall that goes goes downstairs.

Off to a good start.

Last night was awful. Poor little Em. Couldn't swallow, couldn't breathe, tonsils swollen and touching, fever. No fun. Wake up to a little boy with stomach issues (poor guy, these are never ending) Em throwing up mucus on the kitchen floor, and then spilling a 32 ounce bottle of juice all over the floor. I have the greatest sons. Ryker and Jaxton jumped in and cleaned up (the best the could) the juice. They wouldn't touch the throw up. Ryker made pancakes for everyone, while I took care of Em. Of course this all happened after Chris walked out the door. Thank Heavens for Ryker and Jaxton.
So I let them go jump on a snow covered Tramp. (normally this isn't something we do on Sunday, but how often does it snow in La Verkin and come on they saved my bacon this morning) They didn't last long and came in with red toes and noses. I wish I could have gotten a picture.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS

To go and watch the fights or stay home and watch a sick little girl.
Is it really a choice?
Looks like Mom will miss out on the UFC fights tonight.

Messing around with my favorite girl

Emerson wanted to take some pictures with me, and if you know me I hate to have my picture taken, but for Em I will do it.
Oh, how sweet.
Of course we had to have one with rabbit ears

and Summer and Kendra I couldn't let you down and not have a picture with my picture face. So here you go....
I finally finished my first baby rag quilt. I was so excited until I turned it over and realized that one of the squares was turned the wrong side. This was after I had washed it. Em couldn't be happier she gets a new blanket.

FINISHED

Here you go Kendra. These were fun but sticky to make. I made these for the teachers and secretaries.

Then I took the leftover fabric I had from Valentine Pillows and made Em a skirt to wear to school on friday and Sunday. (I made her promise she would wear it before I started) I promise she isn't wearing the brown shirt with the skirt, she was just trying it on. course you never know with em and her sense of fashion.
I liked it so much I had to make another one and with the extra fabric I made a matching one for Hadley. I will have to get a picture of her in it. She is almost one and the cutest, little thing.

So I am done with Valentines, well after the party tomorrow. Chris gets home tonight and I am so ready to have a helping hand.

Rice Krispie Suckers

Emerson and I made these up for her dance class this morning before school. I have been wanting to try them out and since we can't take homemade food items to school I thought it would be fun for her to take to dance. They are rice Krispie hearts on a stick. She can't wait to take them.

When Ryker babysits

We came home to this......

I love the leg up and the face buried in the blanket. I guess he was wore out. He was dead to the world.

Almost done.

Em's Valentines are done for her class, now we just need to work on the ones for her Dance. I found a super cute idea I want to try out. Hope it works out. The boys could care less what they give for Valentines day so it has been fun to have a girl. I was hoping to put 2 in each bag but didn't have enough so they look a little lonely. Maybe we will have to attach a candy or something.
Em wanted to give her teacher an owl (like Jaxton was giving his "girl"friends) but I am burnt out on crocheting so we made one out of fabric. Sometimes I think it is cute and sometimes when I look at it, it looks mean. Lets hope it looks cute on Friday.

I had to hurry and get Valentines put together because I have to focus on the ward Valentine dance coming up next friday. I am trying to make it fun but low key and low stress on me and the committee. I will be glad to have it over.
I made pillows for all the kids for Valentines they have a pocket on the front and starting on Monday I will put the pillows out and each day they will have a note or treat from me in it. I finally got them done yesterday. I made one for Chris and I have had FUN coming up with things to put in it for him. I hope they get excited and can't wait to see what is in the pocket the next day. ( I know Chris and the little ones will be excited, it is the older ones who you never know)
We finally have a open weekend where we aren't running Ryker to Indoor soccer. I can't wait to get Chris started on a honey do list. I know he is just as excited.

Yummy Bread

Kaige came home from scouts a couple of weeks ago raving about some yummy bread his scout leader had made, he had me ask her for the recipe and since then this has been a weekly must have for Chris and the kids. They inhale this bread. Em wants it in her lunch every day. So I am posting the recipe for anyone else who wants some Yummy bread.
In one bowl
3 eggs
1 c oil (or 1/2 oil and 1/2 c applesauce)
3 1/3 c milk
1/2 t. vanilla
In another large bowl
Mix using a fork
3 3/4 c sugar
4 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp Cinnamon
Mix the dry ingredients in with the wet using mixer, then add 1 lg box vanilla or Choc Jello pudding mix
Grease pans then combine 1/2c sugar with 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle mixture on bottown and sides of baking tins. Pour batter into tins 1/2 full, sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over top of batter. Bake at 350 for 1 hr.

Conversation hearts

I needed a Valentine gift for Pollyanna this month and once again Jami helped save the day. This is what we came up with. Jami also suggested putting them in a glass jar but I don't have one big enough yet.

Almost finished with a cute idea I found on another blog for the kids for Valentines. I just need to kick it in gear.

Lost Tooth

Eme has had a loose tooth for awhile and has been trying to get it out (without it hurting, which is why it has taken so long) so she can be on the lost tooth chart at school. Saturday her brother decided to help her out and kick it out of her mouth. (no wonder she wants a sister) . She had us talk to the tooth fairy and tell her to leave money but not take the tooth because she wanted to take the tooth to school. One happy girl
Friday Emerson helped me start on her valentines for her class. We melted crayons in a heart shape. We just need to make the cards for them and they will be done. They were fun to make.
