We're having Girls.........

This last weekend we had the privilege of watching Kendra and Sam's girls. 4 wonderful, loud, crazy girls. I was a little nervous to watch the baby, being she has been known to be a STINK, but she was great. I think I am her second mom. The kids, all 9 of them got along and I hope they had fun.

On Saturday they decided to have a lemonade stand, which I was all for, because it gave them something to do OUTSIDE.

It kept them entertained while I worked on these.

A cheerleader hair clip for Emerson to wear at Jaxton's football games. I also made a cinderella and Tinkerbell. They take Forever, I had to roll the pom pom ribbon on toothpicks and cook it, but I thought they were cute.

BOYS

This is what happens when you jump from the top to the bottom. (notice the blanket at the bottom, I guess he was hoping that would cushion his fall)

Luckily nothing is broken just a really sore ankle.
My question to him was "Why?".

Football Fever

Emerson and Slatin got into Jaxton's football stuff and wanted to play in them.
Future football Star

And this is what happens after staying up to late.

Emerson's Dance Group

Emerson's Dance group performed for Cross Creek yesterday. I think the kids (both the performers and cross creek) really enjoyed it. She was shy at first but ended up having a great time. It is a cute group.

Jaxton's Birthday Pary.

Jaxton had his Birthday Party Friday night. He has such a good group of friends. We played some fun games and I think the kids had a great time. I know Jaxton had fun.

One of the games that we played was to see how many smarties you could suck off a plate using a straw. (the had 60 secs.) Here is the Winner of of the Game. Way to go Grant. 43 smarties in 60 seconds.
Another game we played was to divide the kids up into teams, giving each team a pair of pants and shirt. They each had a pile of balloons. They picked on person on each team to wear the pants and shirt and then when the time started the rest of the team had to see how many balloons they could blow up and stuff in the clothes.
Jack's team had the most.

We also had karoke. Lets just say we had some great singers.

The Happy birthday boy.
Some of the gang. Ryker and Rhett were the picture takers .

We also played the dice game with Candy bars and had a white elephant exchange. I have the best husband ever who helped out with the party.

Just another day in the life of me

Nothing beats going to the temple and coming out of the bathroom in the dressing room to meet your honey and having a temple worker stop you to tell you your skirt is tucked up in your garments and your whole backside is showing. Just wonderful. I almost cried. Chris couldn't stop laughing.
Just chalkin it up to another day in the life of me.

New Skirt

OK, maybe a girl can have too many skirts. I need to stay out of the fabric stores. I made her cousin Hailey a matching one.

Saturday, August 15, 2009

These are the only ones who would let me take a picture of them for the second day of school.

And Miracles do happen, Emerson is letting me do her hair. I am wondering how long it will last.
I bought this skirt in the toddler section and still had to take it in about 4 inches on the waist. She is a tiny thing.

Friday I didn't have a chance to miss them, I had to deal with a broken air conditioner and taco booth which let me tell you was such a privilege to work at. (we got to wear lovely hair nets, an apron that looked like it was made out of a plastic bag, and gloves, it was so HOT). to top it all off last night I had a nightmare that Daniele called me and needed me to help out at the booth again. LOL. It wasn't bad and I got to hang out with fun people and learn how to make a Navajo Tacos.

You can tell it's going to be a good day when.....

You can tell it's going to be a good day when you wake up at 5:00 a.m. to your air conditioning being broke and the tempature in your house is already 85 degrees. Lovely. Let's hope we can get our air conditioning guy here first thing this morning. And we actually have a "guy"because we have had a lemon of an air conditioner. We have had problems with it every year. With all the money we have put into it we could of (should of) bought a new one. I was just waiting for it to go out this year. I was hoping it would prove me wrong and make it thru the summer.

Oh and here's a bit of info
Soda and Cereal is not as good as it sounds. Just ask Ryker and Rhett. I guess they didn't want to waste their soda and thought that eating with Cereal would be Yummy. (yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Back to school

I can't believe how fast the summer went. The kids were excited and nervous for today. Last night Chris gave them all Father's blessings, which have been a tradition in our family. The kids take comfort in that and all look forward to getting one. We also did back to school last night for the younger 3 and they were able to meet their teachers before today which I think helps.

Can you believe she is in First Grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Williams and she has a really cute class.

Big dog ready for 2nd grade. His teacher is Mr. Fawson. He was probably my most nervous one but he is excited for his teacher.

Kaiger is in 5th grade. Last year of Elementary. His teacher is Mr. Tanner and his best friend in in his class. He is a pro at school so he was out of the car and off when I took them to school. The younger ones needed mom a little longer.

Middle School. Holy cows. He wasn't really nervous and didn't want me to take him.

Intermediate school. Jaxton was really nervous until we went to the school a couple of times and Back to school night was good for him. But he seemed ok this morning and took after his older brother and rode the bus. I was sad they didn't want mom to drive them.

I think I was more nervous for the kids then they were. I really think I will be lonely without them. Our house is always full of kids and it is going to seem so wierd with them all gone.

And the winner is.........

Lindsey.
Congrats. I will bring these by your mom's in the next day or two.

Surprise Party

Kendra and Summer decided to throw Chris a surprise birthday party since I had been forbidden to. I gave them this picture and they made an invitation with a cute poem:
Chris is turning 40, his youth he'll see no more, so we're going to have a party like he had when he was 4.
The party was a typical 4 year old party. They had pin the hair on Chris. They had cut different hair styles that Chris has had out of felt (the mullet was the best)

Then we had a pinata

Joey, with a mean drive sent that pinata flying.
Racing to get the candy.
Some people (I won't name any names, Shane) had so much candy they had to fill their pockets
Then we played a game of Red Rover.
I think some of them just liked to hold hands.
Some even took one for the team.

We ended the night with Heavy Heavy Hang over thy poor head.

It really was alot of fun. Thanks so much Kendra and Summer for putting this together. Lets hope old age sets in and he forgets who was behind it all.
Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating the old man's birthday. We have such great friends who made the night a blast.
