Hats, Hats, Hats.

Rayn showed me how to make these darling hats on Monday and I have been making them like crazy. Here are some that I have completely done. I have made some for adults but I need to get buttons for the centers still

The white ones are for babies. I made the yellow and white one for my sister n law when she has her baby.
This one is suppose to go on a smaller head but Emerson loved the button so I guess the princess wins.

I made this one for Emerson's friend Lexi

They are so fun to make. Jaxton has decided he wants to give them to all his "Girl" friends at the last day of school. I am going to make the hats all the same color (cream) and then make the flowers different on each one.

Cannery

I had heard that the cannery had slowed down and that sometimes you can get in to can. I called first thing this morning and they had an opening at 10. I was able to can a case of milk, 3 cans of Rice, 3 cans of potato flakes, 1 can of apples, and 1 can of carrots. Plus they had salsa still there to buy. I was able to get another case of that.
I think we are pretty set on staples except milk. It was so stinkin expensive when we started building our food storage so we didn't get as much as we needed, but it has dropped in price by half.
I am hoping to go again in a week or two and get more milk. It was so nice to do it there and to be able to buy by the can as well.
If your interested in canning I would call down and check it out. They said you have to call daily to see what cancellations they have. So worth it.
I went back to Ballard's today and came home with more tomato plants and cucumber plants. Ryker and I planted them and I am hoping they or at least most of them live.

FHE

Last night for Family Home Evening the Gublers went to my Grandma Gubler's new house and helped her out with her yard work. I mostly supervised. (That is why I have boys, just kidding I helped a little) Earlier in the day I went to Rayns house where she taught me to make the CUTEST baby hat ever. I had her help me with the flower at my Grandma's and once I get a button I will have to post it. I want to make Emerson one and maybe even me. After we were finished with yard work we had a friendly game of Kickball. I think I made it to base once. My boys had it in for me. (maybe it was the yard work I had them do) It really was fun.
Today I am going to get some more tomatoes and cucumbers and replant and hopefully have better luck.
Yesterday at school Emerson decided that she needed a trim and cut the bangs that we have been growing out FOREVER. How old is she??????? It wouldn't be so bad if her hair was thick and grew fast but the complete opposite.

Angels

I believe in Angels. I believe that Heavenly Father knows our needs and he sends us Angels to help us. I had a tough week last week and I know Heavenly Father heard my prayers and could feel my need. I have had little things happen this week to remind me that I am loved by my Heavenly Father and my family.
I had been planning on getting items from someone and that someone forgot to get it. I was so frustrated because I had done my part and followed up with this person and my name had not been added. On Saturday I got a call from this person telling me that some how more than what this person had ordered was set aside and that they were able to get the items for me. (then I felt really bad for being frustrated)
I had 3 visitors on Saturday that showed me how much I am loved by those around me. Thanks so much for coming by. It meant so much to me.
Other small things have happened that have been such a reminder to me.
Chris has been such a great support. I felt bad for him. I wasn't a nice person last week.
I hope that I can be more aware of others.

Hair

I think I hurt Chris's feelings this morning. He is hurt that I didn't notice the milimeter difference in his hair cut. He went a little shorter yesterday and I didn't notice. What a bad wife. I guess if there was hair to notice I would have.

Boys

Today we spent the afternoon in cedar watching Ryker play soccer. It was freezing. They didn't win but I think that he had fun.He is doing great but needs to be more aggressive. It is fun to watch the older kids play. Last night we went to Jaxton's baseball game. I can't believe how much he is improving. He still needs to keep practicing but he is doing so good. We were on our way home from Ryker's game and we came across a "MAN" Store that of course Chris and the boys had to go in. I sat in the car for awhile and then after kids kept coming to the window I went in where I looked around and then went back out and waited. This is what the boys came out with.

Maybe I should have stayed in the store with them.
I think that I am going to have to replant about half of my tomatoes. I am so disappointed and frustrated. Oh well what can you do.
I was able to get 3 cases of Salsa from the cannery I am so excited. We ( I should say Chris and the boys) ate it with our potatoes and hamburger tonight. (we made tacos with potatoes, hamburger and salsa.) It (or so Chris says) is really good Salsa.
Chris thought it would be a good idea that I didn't blog because I had nothing nice to say. This week was a long week. (my poor family) I am ready to start a new week with a better attitude. I have some fun projects planned and I can't wait to start on them.

Tired

I haven't felt much like blogging lately. Alot going on and I am tired. Not much to say. (I know a shocker). Things will look up and settle down soon and I will be back.

This and That

Yesterday was the Imagine Contest awards assembly. Emerson and her group one first place in the lip sync. They performed Annie from Broadway Magic. She was so excited to perform in front of the school. Kaige's group won second place with their lip sync. He came home with a medal.

Kaige had his first Day hike for scouts. They had to be at the church at 7:30 a.m. He was so excited to go that he wanted us to wake him at 5. UM NO WAY. He got up at 6 and patiently waited for his parents to get up. He had alot of fun.
Last night my dad came over and helped the kids and I plant our garden. It took us awhile but everyone did their part. I was so proud of them. We ended up planting 63 tomato plants, 9 cucumber plants, and 2 zucchinni. I am a little worried about the cucumbers, they were so small. My dad thinks I might have to replant them. Ballards was pretty low on plants and selections. The kids were all excited to help and were talking about plans for next year. I hope the excitement lasts when they are out there pulling weeds. They have all named several plants (they named a couple in case some die) My dad was so nice to come over and help us and was so patient with all the little helpers.

Family

Yesterday was such a good day. Chris took Ryker down to his soccer game while I waited for Kaige to come home from his first Scout hike. Once Kaige got home we met Chris, Ryker, and Jaxton in St. George. We had fun spending time together and enjoying each other.
I came home early with some of the kids to get ready for Brandi's bridal shower. I was tired and debating on going but really am glad that I went.
I have always loved Chris's side of the family but I have really come to know, love, and apperciate them even more this past year.
It was so much fun to visit with the family that was there. I didn't want to leave (which I am sure they were more than ready to have me go) Chris was wondering if he needed to send out a search team, I stayed so late.
It really was fun visiting, laughing, playing fun games, (hahaha) wondering who took Lindsay's phone, who needs to moniter their TV stations, Kissing and love bites, and a little fashion show.
Thanks for the great time, family. Maybe I will just have to invite myself over and visit again.

Monday FHE

This is what we are going to be planting for FHE. I am going and picking up 56 tomato plants, 8-10 cucumber plants, and a couple of zucchini plants. Hopefully we can get things to grow and have lots to eat and bottle. My Strawberries are looking so good. I was worried about them because I haven't had much luck with planting things and I only lost about 3 plants.

What are your plans for the Basement?

Last night Kaige comes up to me and says "so what are your plans for the basement? are you doing any decorating?" He is wondering this because tonight is his late night birthday party. I said "well I wasn't planning on anything, what would you like? " A banner would be nice" too funny. He cracks me up. So the simple birthday is no longer simple. It looks like I will be making a banner and decorating the family room.
I want this to be fun for him and sometimes being the middle and so easy going, I think he gets overlooked.
Slatin finally went back to school yesterday for half day. He was hurting when he got home but today we are going to try a little longer.

Baseball

Well we have traded one sport for another. Jaxton had his first Baseball game last night. He didn't play until 8 p.m. and it was freezing so no pictures because I sat in the car. He was being a typical boy and didn't take a coat or long sleeves. I warned him he would be cold. Good thing I had a sweatshirt in the car, it didn't take long for him to come ask me for something. They didn't win last night but other than being cold he had fun. He has games twice a week. Ryker has a Soccer game in Snow Canyon on Saturday. I enjoy going and watching him play I just hate the travel.

I was at walmart the other day and came across this super cute fabric. It wasn't long enough for a dress so I made it into a skirt for Emerson. I had in mind what shirt to wear with it and shoes but of course Emerson had something else in mind. But it worked out okay. This fabric was all ready to go I just had to size it to her and sew the ends together. My kind of sewing. The top has the elastic smocking.

She loves to pose.

Party Ideas

Kaige is celebrating his birthday with a bunch of friends this friday night. We are calling it a late night party. I have one game in mind and would like to play one more and then just let them play the wii or something. There are 9 boys invited and I just have no desire to do anything else. I know I sound like a bad mom but this week and last week have done me in. I just want to keep it simple. Just having friends over will be fun. So if anyone has any game ideas that would be simple to throw together that would be great.

Tile Craft

When I was out at my sister's she showed me a craft she had done with a 4x4 tile.

I loved it so I came home to make some. I only had 12x12 tile but I would love to try some on a 6x6 tile. I just modge podged the pictures on and added some vinyl and ribbon.

On this one I wish I would have cut the white off the picture. Next time.

I love, love, love this picture that Amberly took of Emerson and Chris. I can't wait to hang it in her room. I need to get some brown and pink polka dot ribbon to change out the bow and maybe a flower (the pink is all I had for now)

Simple but something different to do with Tile.

Tonsil breath is the WORST. It is sooooooooo bad. And he has become very self consicous about it because he has 3 older brothers reminding him how bad it is. He was sitting by Kaige yesterday and Kaige looked at him and said "you could kill someone with that breath" (which is probably true) but it hurt the poor guys feelings. Yesterday when he woke up Kaige went into his room and said Slatin's room stinks I said" it is probably his breath, Jaxton go smell it and see if it is the same smell". Jaxton goes right up to Slatin's mouth and puts his nose right by his mouth, Slatin opens up and blows. It about knocked Jax to the ground. I can only hope it gets better soon.

Thank you

Isn't it nice to know that people are thinking of you. I was having the worst possible day today. We had had car problems over the weekend and Chris was gone so I had to get the car to the shop and I was stressing over what was the problem. We also have been dealing with a lovely toilet problem. And of course it would have to happen the night before Chris was to go. I had to deal with that this morning. I have a little guy who is glued to my side and as much as I love him I NEED A BREAK. I had a situation at the school I had to deal with which ended up being fine but at the time it was one more thing. So I was really having a pretty crappy day and I come home from the school and there on my door is a package. A package not for the kids, but for ME. Someone was thinking of me. Just Because. I had to have a good cry. You will never know how much that meant to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!(I did try and call to tell in person and will keep trying)

Easter

The kids woke up this morning all excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them. They had to go on a treasure hunt to find their baskets. (I made up the clues and I will have to say I take after my mom on clue writing. Pretty sad) They all got some treats, Emerson a CTR necklace and the boys CTR dogtags, and a Church book.

Emerson's New Easter dress.

All in suits except Jaxton who has decided he wants to wait until he turns 12.

Dad got to stay home with us this morning. (No Meetings) WE lOVE HAVING HIM HOME.

Easter Saturday in Caliente

Yesterday we spent the day in Caliente, NV at Kendra and Sam's house. Taylor, Ellie, and Deacon as well as my Parents, Summer, Rocky, Shelby, and Trey joined us. It was alot of fun. When we got there we visited and let Kaige open up presents then we ate lunch and then for the anticipated event.....THE EASTER EGG HUNT.

Kaige got a nerf rifle and a nice farting machine from Aunt Kendra and Uncle Sam. He and his brothers LOVE IT. I heard that machine all the way home (maybe it wasn't the machine I do have a car full of boys) Thanks Kendra and Sam I will remember you both.

These 2 could be brother and sister
Getting ready to hunt for all the candy and prizes

We had such a great time and the only downfall is on the way home we had car trouble. You know I think that is a sign Family that I am right,That is okay to stay IN LAVERKIN.

Thanks for having us Kendra and Sam.

Happy Birthday Kaige

Happy Birthday Kaiger. I can't believe you are 10 years old. We love you so much. You are so kind to others, you have a great sense of humor and you provide us with lots of laughs.

When I had Kaige he had complications and they took him straight up to the NIC unit. We found out that he had several holes in his lungs. Chris gave him a blessing and the next day when they did more test the holes were gone. What a great testimony of the power of priesthood. He is such a blessing in our family.

10 things I love about Kaige
1. His sense of Humor

72 Hour Kits

For those of you who purchased 72 hour kits and would like to be on KMkits emailing list for a reminder of when to replace your food or other things let me know and I can send it to them. When your food is getting close to expiring they will send you an email that it is time to replace your food and you can purchase new food from them or just use the reminder to update yourself.

Want to hear a sad story about the 72 hour kits.
I got everyones orders together and collected all the money, I called KMkits and gave him the order on Sunday, called him again on Monday and went over the order again, added everything up and on Friday he came we exchanged money for kits and guess what?????
I didn't add my own kits on there. I paid for them I just didn't add it to the list. NICE. The whole purpose in doing this was to get my kits. I was sooooooooo mad at myself. So I will be making my own now going off of what was in the kits that I delivered to everyone else but ME.

Broadway Magic comes to an end

Emerson had so much fun performing for broadway magic. I want her to do it again next year. (hint, hint, Daniela) Thanks Daniela for all your hard work in putting it together. It was alot of fun to watch. Emerson was so excited to watch her cousin Chance sing and perform. She HAD to track him down after the show to see him. All thru the show when he would perform she would lean over to her friends and say "that is my cousin Chance" . It was cute. He did an awesome job.

My poor boys

I am ready for this week to be over with. Poor Ryker and Slatin.
Slatin is having a hard time bouncing back. Kaige had his tonsils out a couple of years ago and I don't remember him having as hard a time.
Luckily Slatin has his cousin Hailey here to help keep him company and his mind off of hurting. She had been so good to him. She has helped me out a ton.
I am hoping by tomorrow Slatin will start feeling a little better. They told me though that towards the end of the week he is going to be really miserable again and maybe into next week. It is like a rollar coaster. The doctor said that after the first day or two they start to feel better and then about day 5 they are miserable again. I haven't seen the up side yet.
Thanks Jansen (and Sunny) for the push pops, that made Slatin's Day and was very thoughtful
Then we have Ryker whose mouth is awful. We finally got the tooth fixed but the roof of his mouth is Huge. It looks like half a golf ball is coming out of the roof of his mouth. All he really has been able to eat since last thursday is slimfast drinks. I would have thought by now it would have gone done especially being on medication.
The dentist was very surprised that it hadn't gone down either and when he was cleaning the tooth he was trying to really clean the infected root and hoping that he could puncture it and it would gush out but nothing really came out. I was surprised Ryker wasn't coming out of the chair with out hard he was shoving the cleaning thing up hit tooth. He said that is should have come to a head and burst (gross, gross, gross) He also said if there is no relief that I can bring him in the they will lance it. so we will see how today goes. I just want him to start feeling better.

Broadway Magic

Emerson had her first performance last night. They did a great job. They are performing the song from Annie "It's a hard Knock life".

Emerson, Zach, and Lexi (part of the group)

I thought she would have been nervous but she loved it. She can't wait to go tonight.
