Potatoes and Pizza

Last week we got a really good deal on some potatoes. 50 lbs for 15.00. We needed to bottle them and I wanted to make sure that I had help because it is a lot of work and time, so I waited for Saturday. Everyone was so good to help. We did half the box and ended up with 43 pints. I will finish up the rest this week.
Everyone had a job and Emerson was in charge. We had only one injury with the peeler.

Because the kids were such great helps we took them to eat at Pirates Pizza. The wait was FOREVER but we spent the time in the arcade. We had such a great time.

Even the captain got to come with us.

What's for Dinner

I bottled a bunch of pork a while back and wasn't sure what to do with it. My friend gave me a recipe (and hopefully will give me more) I dumped the pork in a pan and added brown sugar and salsa and heated it up then served it with cheese, lettuce, tomato. Chris and the boys LOVED IT. I am heating the rest up and serving over rice tomorrow. I guess we will be doing more pork.

I also came across a recipe to bottle the pork in a sauce so all you have to do it open and heat. I am going to try it that way as soon as pork comes on sale again.

Guess Who Giveaway and a new twist

My friend did a giveaway like this and I thought it was fun so I decided to do one too. See if you can guess who the baby pictures belong to. One is pretty much a Freebie. These pictures were all taken at 6 weeks.

New Twist read on 2nd picture

If you can tell me who this is and when his birthday is (Because sometimes mom's forget and this guy has celebrated his birthdays on different days and up until he was registerd for Kindergarton we had the wrong day, what a bad mom I am. I shouldn't even admit this) So I have an extra drawing (it's wonderful) for those who can help mom LOL (I really know the day now because I have a BC to prove it) To be nice I will give you the month which is JUNE you just need to tell me the day.

The Winner of the drawing will get this baby blanket. The drawing ends Friday. Have fun.

Kaiger

Tonight Ryker gave the lesson for FHE and then we played a game. The game Ryker chose was the alphabet game. You start out with I am going on a trip and I am taking and you go around the circle, the first person starts with the letter A and you name something that starts with that letter and the second person does the letter A and then does B, the third starts with A, B and then C (always repeating ) and so forth, so we have been going around and we get to Kaige who has the letter K, he says " I am going on a trip and I am taking he goes thru the alphabet and gets to K and say Kaige, then we before we move to the next person he says I sure hope I don't forget my name when it comes around to me again. What a silly boy. He cracks us up daily.

I've been tagged

This was at the Fair this last year. Emerson got to pick one ride to go on(because the rides cost an arm and a leg) and this is what she picked.

Kids and their sports

If I thought things were busy before I was wrong. I have all five kids signed up for soccer and so I will have at least 5-9 games a week. Just a tiny bit crazy. I think that Jaxton and Kaige will probably be on the same team but all the others will be on their own. Ryker is in club soccer so we will travel for his games. We also Signed Jaxton up for fast pitch baseball. He has been wanting to do this forever but I always missed the sign ups. He subbed last year and had such a great time that I made sure I remembered this year. After soccer then the little ones will sign up for t-ball and then comes football. The kids are all excited so that is good. They better stay that way. The things moms do for their kids.

I think we are in TROUBLE

Yesterday we were getting ready to go to the Blue and Gold Picnic and Emerson went in to brush her hair. Slatin was being loud and Emerson came unglued. She started yelling at Slating telling him that she couldn't do her hair with him being so loud. He of course was louder and she started screaming that her hair wouldn't go the way she wanted it to because of Slatin. Slatin was getting a major kick out of this and kept getting getting louder and she comes flying out of the bathroom screaming at him to be quiet and chasing him around the kitchen with a comb crying. I can only imagine what the teenage years are going to be like. YIKES.
When I told Chris he just laughed but I don't think he will be laughing then.

Gettin Even

Hey fellow bloggers I need ideas. I have this great friend who played a joke on me and I need some ideas on how to get even. I love her to death so it has to be a good joke. It doesn't help that I provided her with the ammunition. Chris has forbidden me to share anymore of my "special moments" with anyone. He tells me to think before I speak but sometimes things sound so different in my head then what comes out of my mouth. This also means no more posing for pictures. I don't take a pretty picture.
So help I need ideas. Watch out Kendra..... I will get even

(you didn't need to take the picture down. I am a good sport. I just get even WAAAHAHAHA)

Blast from the past

My friend Kristen sent me this picture. Holy Cows!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what we were thinking.

Check out all that hair. Back row Kristen Astle, Kendra, Rayn, Jana front row Teri, Keri, Becky, and Sharon. thi is when we dyed our hair brown. Love the outfits as well

Look who lost their first tooth

Emerson was eating lunch today with her friend Aydan when Aydan told her that she her tooth was missing. It had fallen out when she had taken a bite to eat. Her tooth has been loose for awhile but NOBODY has been able to touch it.
She can't wait to put it under her pillow.

Another Giveaway with a twist

Looks like I have my winners
Jillian, Chelsey, Bonnie, Hailee, and Daniela. Remember the catch. Daniela I know you don't have a blog so I picked 5 people that I think would have responded to you. Keri, Brandi, Kendra, Bonita and Keri
Keep an eye out for your prize

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!
My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! Of course, I'm sure you will love it purely because it was made by me. Right?
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. Don't hold your breath or anything, but it will be done at some point this year.
4. You have no clue what it's going to be. I have no clue what it's going to be. But it will be something.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange or completely predictable.

The catch?
Oh, the catch. And yes there is a big ole' catch... is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.
The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment win a homemade gift!
It may not be great, but it will be fun!!
* * *Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!* * *

I had a giveaway like this earlier but wasn't thinking when I commented on my friends blog so I guess I will do another one. But in order to receive you must repost. Not pointing any fingers Tamara and Amberly LOL

Slatin

Chris was giving Slatin a bath tonight and he told him this
"If somebody wanted to buy my sister for a million dollars I wouldn't sell her because you can't play with money and you can only buy like one big toy but a sister you can play with all day long."
AHHHHHHHH I love my kids.
And I am in trouble. I ate Chris's sugar cookies and he is mad. If anyone wants to bring him some sugar cookies and get me out of trouble that would be great. LOL
You can't leave things laying around (especially sugar cookies)

The long awaited day

Kaige got his braces off this morning. He was so excited. We get to go back in on Wed. for his retainer and he will wear that for awhile and then he will probably have to have a second set of braces.
He also had an expander on which they took off as well. It had cut up the roof of his mouth but the dentist said it should be fine. I can't believe the difference the expander made with his mouth.
We had to go buy him a pack of gum when we were done.

Heroes

"In a world full of fantasy heroes and pop-stars, we should never forget the real heroes, with real courage, real strength, and real stories,"

My friend Brandi sent me this site where you can get these awesome posters of real life heroes from the Book of Mormon. They are huge. My boys and I fell in love with them. We bought one for each of the older boys. (Brandi I still need to order another one)
We got them today and Chris hung them and framed around them. I LOVE THEM.

I am going to cut the quote at the top of the post in vinyl to put next to them.

Valentines with friends

Emerson had her friend Lexi come over to play. They decided to make valentines for each other and then for their class. Other than Emerson having a complete come apart because she couldn't get her new stamp set to close just right, they had a great time. I am glad they are such good friends.

Jaxton has this cute little neighbor girl and her friend that like him. Last night they sent over a note with a heart on the front of the page with a line drawn down the center with one name on one side and the other name on the other side. Inside the note said that the both liked him and would he please circle which one of them he liked and send back the note to them that night.
One of them came by this morning to see if Jaxton would walk with her to school. I think I might be in trouble. I told Jaxton I was NOT going to make anymore books for Valentines. He has more "girl friends" than I can keep track of.
I wanted to take a picture of the note and posted it but he told me no.

And the winner is.........

Decisions Determine Destiny

I found this quote on a stitching website. I bought the pattern to stitch but right now I am sick of stitching so I decided to cut it in vinyl. I think it turned out simple but cute. I Love this saying.

Exercise

Chris borrowered a pull up bar from my brother to use to exercise because he hasn't been able to run (his knee has been bothering him) well of course all the kids had to try it out. I finally made him take it down before he left it was driving me crazy.

Are you feeling LUCKY

I think these turned out so cute. I made me and my friend a set for St. Patrick's Day and then decided to make one for a giveaway.
Unless you guys are getting sick of give aways.
The drawing ends on Wed.

Friends

Brandi thanks so much for the invite tonight. It was much needed. I had a great time with you guys. I need to do this more often. I forget how much fun it is to spend time with friends and how much I miss it. So agian thanks for having me over.

Another one bites the dust

We had another one bite the dust. Saturday we had to take Jaxton in to insta care and he has strep. He seems to be doing better today. I took Slatin in today to get his stitches out and it hurt a little, his eyes were pretty teary. It still looks really gross we need to keep some medication on it to help with the scabbing. yuck.
I am really hoping this week is quiet. No more doctors.

I am so bugged at something that happened last week, something that I was asked to do and I know if I was in a better frame of mind that it probably wouldn't bug me so bad (it would still bug me but not as bad) I can't do anything about it and Chris tells me to just deal with it. Not the thing to say right now (probably not ever) If I don't do it, it puts a huge burden on someone else in the exact same position as me. I don't understand people sometimes.
I am not going to say what it is because to most people it isn't a big deal. But to me it is.
Okay enough maybe typing this will help and I can "just get over it"
But come on people.

Just a reminder that I am going to be going private in a week or two so anyone who wants an invite please leave me your email.

Potatoes and Pork

Today we bottled 41 pints of potatoes and 24 bottles of pork. It took us most of the day but so worth it. I figured it out and it ended up only being 20 cents for each bottle of potatoes and 1.16 for each bottle of pork. Not to bad. The pork took FOREVER and depending on how we like it will determine if I want to do it again.

We did it as a family which was nice. The boys helped with peeling and slicing the potatoes and clean up. Chris cut up all the pork and I bottled and cooked it. It took most of the day but what a great feeling as we put it on the shelves.

Kaiger

Today I asked Kaige how he got a hole in his pants. He said what pants? oh you mean the ones I am wearing. Um yeah kaige the ones you are wearing.
So like his Dad.

5 dial soaps in the dispenser
2 64 ounce Ocean spray

Slatin's lip is healing. It still looks sooooo gross but it is healing. We get the stitches out on Monday.

Sick of Stitching

I finally got all 7 of my Valentine books done. I am still working on Jaxton's. First he wanted 3 now it is 4 ugh. I am SICK of stitching. I am doing his a little different. More for his age. They are turning out soooo cute. I will have to post a picture when they are done.

I also came acroos this idea with soft soap. I bought some and peeled the stickers off the front and back and then added some vinyl and ribbon. Super cute. I think I will use these for VT this month. I can't wait to do some for spring.
