Beatty Bootcamp

It is that time again for the Beatty Reunion. This year Zak and Heather were in charge and they went with a boot camp theme because my brother Taylor is leaving with his unit this weekend to head over to Iraq. They made up these awesome shirts for all of us. The adults were all gray and the kids were in camo .

Eme and Andi

We got up to Pine Valley on Friday evening and the fun started. Emerson found lots of costumes to dress up in. The kids played outside until late and finally settled down around 11 or at least the younger ones did, those sleeping outside(Kaige, Slatin, Kael and Trey) entertained the adults with Truth or Dare. So glad the truth questions were What is your favorite color?, have you ever kissed your mom? and what is your favorite color? They didn't know that they were keeping Uncle Taylor up with their game. He got quite a kick out of it.

Saturday Morning we were up bright and early with morning drills taught by Taylor. (sorry, no pictures I wasn't getting up that early to take them) Mom and Dad made us a yummy filling breakfast.

Miracles do happen.

Taylor made up a game that kept us all entertained for hours.
Death Ball

Two people throw a ball at each other and if it hits a body part of the other person that body part is dead. If you are hit in the face your are out. As long as the ball is soft it was fun. I even played against the master and WON.

Hailey

Tim, Taylor, Kade, Dad and Zak.

words escape me.

Kade got all decked out for the day. Complete camo uniform and Ash from the fire for his face.
We divided up in teams and had to compete in an obstacle course. Here is the winning team.

Kaige, Chris, Emerson, Hadley, Becky and Shelby.

Chris crawling under the wires and getting bomb with water balloons.

Shelby and I had a friendly Competition and tied.
Waiting to fill up canteens the fastest

Summer and Tim watching a match of Death Ball

Taylor and Rocky tried a challenge that NOBODY
wanted to try.....
They each had to eat a heaping spoonful of cinnamon

Winner

Kendra and Addison didn't make it up to the reunion this year. Kendra was really sick and Addi had just broke her arm 2 days before. We really missed them but was glad the rest of the family was able to come.

I realized this year that I am not as young as I used to be. I tried to do kartwheels with zak (which I so wished I had a video camera to tape him) and summer saults with Shelby and realized that I can't. I couldn't remember how to do a summer sault and thougth I was the bomb at kartwheels until I tried one. My body sure paid the price for that.

It was really fun to get a way from everything and enjoy everyones company. It was also good to spend time with Taylor.

Knighted

On Wed. Slatin became a Knight of the math table. He successfully learned and passed off all his time tables.

Getting ready to be knighted by King Leavenworth.

So proud of him. He worked really hard for this.

Getting things done.

Monday Night after the lesson we went out to get control of the weeds around the front of the house. If everything goes as planned we are going to be putting rock down around the front pine trees this Saturday. Fingers crossed.

who needs shovels, hoes, and rakes when Dad has a blow torch.

I think we made one of our neighbors nervous, she kept yelling at us to wet down the fence.
The boys all did a great job in keeping it under control.

I think I'm going to make it. I finished up almost all of Slatin's stuff for the store and a couple of dolls for our Family Reunion next week.
working on 2 more things and hopefully I can get them done. If not I keep telling myself it will be okay.

Last night Ryker had his band concert. He is in Jazz band, Guitar, and Band II so we had the privilege of spending 2 hours listening to ALL the bands because he would play, wait, play, wait, play. Good times. But he did a great job.

I didn't get pictures of him with the guitar but that was my favorite one to listen to. They sounded really good.

Saturday is the day to play

Jaxton and Slatin had soccer games ALL day long on Saturday so we spent the day in St. George. Luckily Slatin's games were at Little Valley park which has the funnest splash pad and park. Which made it nice for them to cool off in between games and it gave Miss Em something to do .

He was soooooo red and hot after playing soccer.

Jaxton's team came in Second place overall and did a really good job. The boys had so much fun playing and can't wait to start back up again. Me, I am okay with a break.

New Glasses

Em has been complaining of her eyes being blurry and not being able to see. We took her into the Eye doctor last week and it turns out she did need glasses. Their is a chance she could outgrow the need (which I hope happens) but for now she has to wear them.

She had picked out a darling pink pair but they were crazy expensive and I wanted to see how she took care of these before I spent tons of money on them. She was so hyped up to get them on Monday and was so happy and willing to do what I asked, that Chris said I should have gotten them sooner. But she does look cute in them.

Wrestling with Dad

The boys like to think they can take down their dad and it is fun to watch them try.

I couldn't find Emerson for a minute and then after pulling the pillows away

This is what I found.

Poor little girl was tired
