watch out

Watch out

I love this sweet side of Em that I don't often see in the mornings before school.
She hates all her clothes and NONE of her shoes or socks fit, and don't even get me started on doing her hair.
I am lucky to get her to school with matching clothes and shoes and socks. Doesn't mean we don't have a total melt down each morning(and when I say melt down I mean melt down, kicking and screaming) but she is at school.
Sure makes for a grumpy mom.
But I sure love her, attitude and all. Especially her notes that I find on my bed each night. Last night I found a note telling me she hates be the last one born and she needs a sister. (um Not only heck no but H*** no) sorry rough morning.
But I love her. I really do. I just want to see more of her sweet side in the morning.

The other day I had Slatin take his blanket up to his room and this is what we heard "Gosh, I just dutch ovened myself and it REEKS". I guess he had wrapped himself up in the blanket to take it to his bedroom and one slipped out.

Freshman Football

Ryker (#32)had their last game last night. They played against Cedar and WON. He has never played football before and wasn't sure he wanted to after going to the first couple of practices but he stuck it out and he LOVED it. He had so much fun. It was fun to watch him play.

The night before his game he told me he wasn't sure if he was going to be able to play because he had pulled his hamstring and it was really hurting him. We put some stuff on it and I told him that he would be upset if he didn't at least try and play with this being his last game. After the game I went up to him and talked to him and he said "Mom, my leg didn't even hurt, " Really I told you the stuff would work and he said " mom it wasn't the stuff, I had been using that stuff and it still hurt but right before my game I said a prayer and I had no problem with it and was able to play" Here I was having him rely on medicine and he put his faith and trust in our Father in Heaven. I sure Love this Young Man. What a great example he is to me. I am sure lucky to be his MOM.

I love these guys

having fun.

Every game Ryker has I have made a little treat and a saying for him and the boys that we carpool with. I had some left over teeth from this week and these two had a little fun with them this morning. There is a big sucker behind the lips. (I attached the lips and a bag of eyeball gum to a note that said Keep your eye on the ball and don't take no lip from the other team. ) Ryker wouldn't let me send a squeeze it and hershey kisses for a squeeze and a hug from Ryker's mom. Why not...... I didn't tell him what I was doing I never do I want him to be surprised and maybe even a little nervous as to what his mom will send. LOL. She is out for blood.

Dang those Steglich Teeth.

I think I broke Poor little Em's heart last night. About a year ago when she went out to my Sister's house for a couple of days, Rylann intruduced her to the fairies. If you write a note and ask for certain things from the fairies they will bring it to you. So they did and the fairies came so when she got home of course she wanted to write the fairies (thanks Kendra) I let her a couple of times but last night she wanted to write them again. I had to tell her that the fairies are your mom and dad. She started to cry because she really wanted the fairies to bring her a doll. I felt bad to crush her fantasy of fairies.
I did find a note to mom this morning asking for the doll.

I Believe I can fly.

We have all the windows open and I could hear something. It was these 3 boys singing at the top of their lungs "I believe I can fly" over and over, and over, and over again. I kid you not they were pushing the swing and singing for at LEAST a half an hour.

Tag your it.

Saturday we spent the afternoon at the school playground playing tag and eating dinner. We have felt the need to spend as much time together as a family as we can. The kids are going in all different directions with sports and activities that we need this time together as a family.

This is where Emerson spent most of her time. She loves riding her bike.
She did come play Ball Tag with us for a little while and Chris was it and she was standing on one of the ladders looking around for him and said "Where is that old Man?" I about died laughing it was too funny.

Chris and the boys all fixed up the bikes and rode them down to the school while I drove down with dinner. It was a simple but fun activity. We had plans to go to a spooktacular party that night but unfortunately couldn't make it, I hope it wasn't to much fun without us.
Tonight we are going to hunt for ghosts........
