Surgery Day

We got to the hospital at 8:15 this morning. It only took us two tries to find the right place. We filled out paperwork and then waited, and waited and waited. Finally at 10:00 they took him up to surgery. He did great in surgery but had a hard time once he woke up. He couldn't keep anything down. They let us go around 12:30 and good thing they sent us home with a bed pan. Slatin put it to use on the ride home. He couldn't keep anything down. I gave him his pain medication and he threw that up. Poor guy. Finally at about 6 tonight he was able to eat a popsicle and keep it down along with some meds. I hope tonight is not bad and he can get some sleep.

Frustrated

I have been so frustrated with Ryker's dentist or should I say staff. I called them this morning and told them what was going on and if I could please get him in today. They wanted me to wait until Wed. I called them back and said that he needed to get in today. He can't eat, talk, and hurts. They let me bring him in and then when one of the ladies takes him back and has him sit down and looks at him and then turns to me ands says" I would have thought his cheek would be bulging with how you have been" I was TICKED. Once the dentist opened Ryker's mouth and looked at the roof of his mouth then she tried to play nice. TOO LATE.
So it was a good thing I took him back and didn't wait until Wed. What they thought was just sore gums (yeah right) from a molar coming in, is exactly a dead tooth. The roof of his mouth is so swollen. I don't think they have ever seen anything like it. So we are getting it fixed. Would have been nice to have it fixed last friday when we took in him the first time.
Okay I am done being mean (for now)
Tomorrow is the big day for Slatin. I have to have him at the hospital by 8:15 to get his tonsils out. Thanks to everyone who is helping out with the other kids. I was a bit overwhelmed but you have been great.
Emerson is in Broadway Magic for all those who want to come see her. It is Wed and Thur Night. She performed today for the imagine contest with her group and I thought it was darling. Thanks Daniela for all your hard work and Kendra for the cute costumes. I want to make some for play dresses. I will probably be calling you. They are doing Annie.
Kaige also enteredt he imagine contest with a group of his friends and did YMCA. He was an indian. It was cute.

Conference Weekend

Chris and the boys had a great time at Conference. The new General Authority was Chris's mission president. Chris was really excited to go and listen to him. Jaxton can't wait to go again. Ryker, Emerson, Slatin and I stayed home and watched from here. It wasn't quite the same without everyone and we missed them but I was glad that they got to go.

Toothaches

This is what Ryker has been dealing with since Thursday.



He had been complaining of his teeth hurting and then Thursday he stayed home from school because he was in so much pain. We got him into the dentist on Friday and they said it was just a new molar coming in and maybe the tooth next to it Might be infected but they didn't think so. Friday Night was MISERABLE for Ryker. High Fever, pain and his cheek was swollen and his gum and the right side of the roof of his mouth was so swollen. Finally today something popped in his mouth and infection came out (I know Yuck). He wasn't able to go up to conference with Chris and the boys and I felt so bad. I hope that he starts to feel better soon. Tooth aches STINK.

General Conference

Chris and the older 3 boys are going to be heading up to Conference tomorrow with Mitch and 3 of his kids. They have tickets for the Sunday Morning Session. We were going to go as a family but Slatin and Emerson are not old enough yet and I didn't want to be stuck outside with them so Chris talked to Mitch and this is the plan. (Weather permitting) The boys are so excited which really makes me happy. When we told them that we probably weren't going to go some of them were in tears. I am so thankful that the gospel is important to them. What a great experience for them.
