kids and the things they say.

Today Em told me she was sad, sad that she was the only girl in the family (what am I????) and she was sad that she didn't have a sister. She then said that she was going to pray to Heavenly Father for a sister and that she was going to tell Dad he needed to pray for her to have a sister as well.
Poor Em, Not all prayers get answered. I feel bad she won't experience that sister bond but not enough to have another one.

Tonight Slatin was sitting on the couch and told us that he had gas really bad and after he let one go he said man that stinks, I would rather smell it then taste it. It taste like death. Yikes buddy what have you been eating.

Things never go the way you plan.

I was so looking forward to working on a valentine project for my kids but I had to make a quick trip to town to pick up new eye glasses. I thought that I would have time to work on it when I got home but I had to head back out to pick up a wounded boy from school. The rest of my day was spent driving kids to dance and skills a court of honor and and taking care of the invalid. ***note**** try to aviod steel pole sticking out of ground when playing tag***********
I was looking forward to crafting with friends last night but wasn't able to go. Dang it, I hate it when things don't go the way you want them or planned them to.
The bright side today the hurt boy is staying home and so I won't be able to go into work. Maybe I will get the project started. Wait that didn't sound right, a bright side to a hurt kid????? Luckily he will be fine once his knee settles down. It is swollen and he can't bend it or kneel on it. Boys they play so rough.

I love continued.....

I love a good sale, a really good sale.
I love that my family worked hard and our pantry is full.
I love that I have lots of help to pack all the groceries downstairs.
I love that their is information out there to help with keeping up on food storage.
Just a little note.... One of the blogs I read said that sugar is expected to raise high in price like rice did last year. I went to 2 walmarts today and the shelves were bare of 25lb bags of sugar. I was able to snag 2 (my supply is getting low) so heads up.
I love that a certain police officer likes me so much that he pulls me over monthly to chat. Luckily no tickets. Just love that. (I am not a bad driver I promise, just one anxious copper)

I Love.......

I Love my Husband, I love that he puts up with me and my quirks, (and believe me there are alot of them) I love that he is ok knowing his daughter is going to have some of those same quirks. I love the example that he sets for his boys in honoring his priesthood and his willingness to serve others. I love that he is ALWAYS there for me and supports me in everything.
I love my children, in good times and in hard times. I love that each one of them is different. boy are they different. I love the examples they set for me. I love that they can forgive easily and that they love me even when I am not the greatest mom.
I love the opportunity to work. I love how it fell into place and not know the blessings that would come from it. (the steglich kids all need braces)
I love to make new things and I love the friends that make it possible.
I love good friends and family and I am so blessed to have them.
I love Wed. (it is my day off)
I love that I have a fun project to work on today.

I love my Daddy.

Chris has been gone this week and when he got home on Thursday Miss Em was so excited to see him and wouldn't leave his side. She loves her daddy.

I showed Chris the picture of the mustache hat and he wanted me to make one for this guy he works with. They are always giving him a hard time because he really can't grow any facial hair. So I made one for him to take to work on Friday and of course Ryker wanted one to wear. I think they are funny.

Rykers is black. I finished it later that night.
Now all the boys want one. I think it woud be fun to make one with the furry yarn. I just might have to try it. Chris said that his friend wore it all day and it kept him really warm.

"owl" be your valentine.

Jaxton wanted to give something to his "girl friends" for valentines. I figured I better get started now in order to get them and the other kids valentines done. This is what we have so far. (the orange one is Kendra's) I have a handful more to make and then I am done with owls. We still need to attach a tag to them, "owl" be your valentine. I wanted to make Em's for her class but with work and other committments I don't think that will happen. Maybe for her dance class.

I am putting on the ward's Valentine party and we are doing the love boat theme. If any of you have any decorating ideas that would be great. We are taking hula hoops and covering them with blue cellaphane and hanging them on the walls for the portals. We have a couple of other ideas but could use more help. I have a GREAT committee, and I think it is going to be fun.

why do they have to grow up.

I thought raising toddlers was hard but it is nothingcompared to raising teenagers. Sometimes I just want to throw my hands up and admit defeat. I love them to death but some days.......
I can only imagine what it is going to be like when miss em is a teenager. It doesn't look pretty.
