Emerson, Emerson, Emerson. Where does she get her fashion sense from? Yesterday I was given a baby dress size 3 months. I gave it to Emerson to use for her dolls. Today I look up and she has come out of her room like this.......

I look at her and she says "what, it fits me". I promise I made her change.

My friend Jami and I made these cute hanging frames and inside the frame hangs a 6x6 block with something to go along with the month.

I still haven't decided if I want to put something around the wire holding the frame yet. I need to play around with some ideas. They were fun to make but the wire was a pain to put on.

Thanks for all the ideas for Teacher Appreciation. Today I gave them a soda with the saying "pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a great teacher you is." Tomorrow the kids are giving them a gift. Slatin has a first grade teacher that has taught all of my kids in first grade. I love her and my kids have loved her. I was so hoping that she would be Emerson's first grade teacher but her and her husband are going on a mission in July. I am so sad. Slatin and I made something special for her because we love her so much. I will post a picture tomorrow. (it isn't quite done yet)

Hamburger

Farmer's had a great deal on Hamburger last week and I bought a bunch to bottle. I know it probably sounds gross but how convient it would be and nice to have another meat on the shelf. I want to bottle it with a sauce like Sloppy Joes. Does anyone have any good recipes or ideas.

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation week. The last couple of years I have sent something little everyday for the teachers and then a gift on Friday, just ot let them know how much we appreciate them. Monday I got 4 wooden planes with a note attached "It's plane to see we have the Best Teacher. Yesterday we gave them a nut bar with the note saying "We're nuts about having you for a teacher" For tomorrow I found this pattern to make cake slices that are little containers that you put treats in. They were so simple and fun to make. I am attaching a note that says "you take the cake for being the best teacher.

You could use these cake slices for anything. You can make a whole bunch and arrange them as a cake, super cute.
Still trying to figure out Thursday and Friday. IF you have any good ideas let me know.

55 Gallon Water Barrel Storage

We had a friend of the family make some of these for us. To free up space in our storage room
The nice thing about these is it really make water easily accessible. If you put a water faucet on each barrel ($5), you just have to turn on the water when you want it, or you can attach a hose and take the water when you want to take it. This has worked much better for us than the pump that they usually sell with the barrels. Plus it makes good use of space. If you are interested in these the triple holders are $30 and the double are $20. Soccer, Wedding, Baseball, Race and more Soccer

Today and yesterday have been crazy busy with sports and a wedding. Yesterday we went to Brandi's wedding. It was nice to visit with Family. We came home and picked up kids and headed over to Ryker's soccer game. They were having an Indoor Soccer Tournament. It is a very aggressive and intense way to play soccer. After the game we headed over to the reception and was only able to stay a little bit because we had to head home for Jaxton's baseball game. They won their first game. Jaxton's team was so excited. It was great. This morning Chris left at 5:20 to run the Hurricane Half and Kaige and I went over at 7:45 to cheer him on. He did great. He ran it in 1 hr. and 40 min. better than last year.

My Sister ran her first race. She ran the 5k. I am so proud of her. What started out a bet between family ended up with only her running. Her hubby ran along side her to motivate her but I think his words of encouragement were meant with SHUT UP and let me concentrate on making it thru this race. She has really worked hard. Great Job Sis. I didn't get a picture of her I didn't make it in time.
After the race we headed back down to St. George where Ryker had more soccer. He played indoor soccer and then at 2 he a regular soccer game (which they got tromped on because they were so wore out) then back to finish the indoor soccer tournament.



He really had a fun time but man am I glad to be done. It wore us all out. It was really cool to watch them play indoor soccer. It would be great if they had it over here.
In between games we met up with all my family to have a goodbye lunch for my brother Taylor. He is leaving next week for basic training. I have known that this was going to happen but it sure snuck up on me fast. I think I am still in denial about him leaving. If I am having a hard time with this I can only imagine how hard it is for his wife.
It was a busy day but it was fun to have all the kids there to support each other. They all want to rent the building and play agianst Family and Friends. Any one interested to take them on?????
I was thinking a fun idea for a Steglich Family Reunion.

Cake Report and New Additions

Last year we got 2 cats which then had babies and we had 9 cats. We took all but 3 to a wonderful aunt who lives in the fields. We thought the 3 we had were male. NOPE. We now have 7 cats. These babies are really cute and the kids are having fun with them but they have to go. So if you want a cute little kitty let me know or the lady in the field is gettin 5 more cats.
